Hydrafacial FAQ

As a contemporary salon of San Francisco, Joseph Cozza Salon is committed to making you look and feel your absolute best, and part of making you feel your best is being sure that you know exactly what is best for you. Our talented stylists and estheticians can answer just about any question you may have, and for that reason, we also have available some of our most frequently asked questions about our Hydrafacial treatment.

What is a Hydrafacial?

The Hydrafacial treatment is a new breakthrough in aesthetic technology. As the name implies with the root “hydra” as in “hydrate”, the Hydrafacial moisturizes the skin, which sets the Hydrafacial apart from other skin resurfacing procedures. The Hydrafacial treatment removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing serums which are totally customized for your skin! The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective.

Why is Hydrafacial Good For My Skin?

Hydration is the foundation for having healthy and radiant skin. Irritation of the skin has been proven to increase signs of aging. The Hydrafacial is a hydrating and non-irritating treatment that will leave your skin radiant, glowing and nourished.

Am I a Candidate For This Treatment?

The Hydrafacial treatment is designed for all skin types. Even those with sensitive skin could benefit from the Hydrafacial treatment. Your technician will choose specific treatments and serums to create a treatment that is custom for your skin and its unique needs.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?

The treatment is both fast and efficient, taking less than an hour of time. The treatment is often described as a feeling like a cool paintbrush moving over your face. You may put on make-up and return to your normal activities immediately after treatment if you like, as there is no downtime afterwards.

What is the Difference Between a Hydrafacial And Microdermabrasion Treatment?

Microdermabrasion is a single step exfoliation process that works by abrading the top layer of skin and “vacuuming” the exfoliate away to reveal the new, fresh skin below. The Hydrafacial however, is the evolution of this process as a multi-step process that provides cleansing and exfoliation, a gentle peel to loosen dirt and debris from pores, extraction via vortex suction to clean out the pores, and hydration of antioxidants and hydraluronic acid via patented vortex fusion to nourish and protect your skin. Through the use of various tips and solutions, each step of the Hydrafacial is customized to suit your skin type.

What Results Should I Expect?

Many people report seeing visible skin refinement and even radiant skin tone after just one treatment! The results may last up to 5-7 days, or even longer! One treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, blackheads and whiteheads, acneic and oily or congested skin. Continued treatments are recommended to maintain results.

What Areas Other Than The Face Can Be Treated With Hydrafacial?

Hydrafacial treatments can benefit the face, neck, decollete, hands and arms. Many men and sports enthusiasts also appreciate the Hydrafacial for congestion and/or acne on the back, or “Back-ne”
